Dining under the stars at the Big Pitcher Star Lounge.

For those passionate about gourmet dishes plus drinks, and fancy having it under the starry sky, The Star Lounge at Big Pitcher is a perfect spot to hit.

The venue is nestled at the top floor of the Big Pitcher’s 5 storeyed building ; a club, microbrewery, discotheque being housed on other levels.  But if it’s the Bangalore’s beautiful weather you seek to soak up while enjoying the good food, then definitely move  all the way up to the Star Lounge.

It was mid-week when some of the friends decided for an intimate get-together to indulge in fine dining over great conversation. Coming together and sharing a meal is one thing which binds everyone together; well aware of this fact, Chef Nishant and his team made sure that we are offered the best recommended dishes from the menu which is well curated with classics from world over. So, one can pamper the taste buds from the best of Italian, Mediterranean, Continental, Indian, and fusion dishes.

Once settled comfortably at the table, the first step to enjoy the entire gourmet experience is to select from their signature high quality brewed and crafted beers. Here I must give special mention to the seasonal Jackfruit beer, King Slayer and Belgian Wit. Their signature cocktails like Lychee based Take it Easy and Watermelon based Four Play were equally alluring.

The next course of action requires to mix and match the drinks with the appetising starters. From a range of choices available, we tickled our taste buds with Hara bhara kebabs, Malai Paneer Tikka, Murgh Dum Tikka ,King Prawn and King Fish prepared on the grill.  I especially liked the Chicken dish; the succulent pieces cooked to perfection in a tandoor rendering an earthy flavour in them.

 

The main course too has plethora of options among which we ordered Penne Pasta tossed in creamy white sauce, Spaghetti sizzler, Chicken sizzler, a Prawn dish; all custom made by Chef upon request.

A dish which requires special mention, and which is not-to-be missed by any food lover is Naanza, a perfect fusion of Italian taste and Indian flavor. This dish got our undivided attention and was relished to the core.

 

The best part of any meal is of course Dessert, but by this time we were so full that everyone was more than happy to take one or two bites from the two bowls of the Gulab Jamun and one stunningly looking Cheesecake. Wish we had eaten less to satisfy our sweet tooth with a wide array of choices available in the Menu.

The staff at Big Pitcher Star Lounge is courteous and is ever ready to explain and recommend dishes as per the liking. All in all, this rooftop restaurant, offering the birds eye view of the city, is an ideal place to hang out during evenings.
