UDP- Urban Deccan Pub is a spacious place , perfect to try innovative coastal cuisine amidst intimate and calm atmosphere, accentuated by planters and floral murals on the walls. The food here is a good mix of dishes inspired from South India.
Besides the indoor seating theres ample room to sit at the terrace too ,where one can enjoy their drinks and grub in the evening, while watching the game at a projection screen.
🍸Ok so coming to food and drinks: I enjoyed their signature cocktails- Vanakkam Kokum ( main ingredients:Whiskey+White Wine+Lime juice), Tam Tam ( Vodka+ Tamarind puree+Apple juice+Coriander) and Quickgun Morgan (Dark Rum+ Tiramisu Syrup+ Cold brew) , and trust me the cocktails are as innovative as their names😉 , among which Tam Tam is a must-try!!
🍱With an urban touch given to authentic Udipi cuisine, the starters and main course were delight to the palate. We tried Ghee roast chicken, UFC wings, Hummus with Paratha crisps, Raw Banana cutlets, Mini Dosa Taco , Sambar Khichdi, Potli Biryani (served wrapped in a banana leaf) ; all perfectly seasoned to give flavoursome flavours.
Just to give you an idea about the twist in the dishes: Their signature Deccan chips are crispy fried Malabar parathas shaped into small triangular pieces and sprinkled with dried garlic and coconut powder served with spicy hummus. A particular Idli dish is deep fried button Idly tossed in Sambhar. P&P cutlets are made of raw banana and peanuts. Sambhar Khichdi is a nice switch from the regular khichdi which we prepare at home.
😋Now lets talk about desserts : Elaneer Payasam Pudding ( Tender Coconut pudding) , Ajji’s Apple Crumble roll with Toffee sause n Gulab Jamun Tiramisu are delight to eat.
I strongly recommend this place for good food and amazing cocktails. The service is quick and prices of dishes wont burn a hole in your pocket.
UDP is located in Indiranagar and stands near Domlur Bridge.
