Eufy RoboVac G10 Review: A good robot vacuum at a budget.

Social distancing had now become a part of life and I have been taking care of the household chores without any domestic help. But with no respite in sight, finally I bought my self a Robot vacuum cleaner to share the work load. The cleaning robot-  Robovac G10 Hybrid by Eufy is the new entrant to our house. Why hybrid? Because it does the function of both sweeping and mopping simultaneously and effectively; alternatively you can just mop or vacuum only.

The Robovac has anti-scratch tempered glass-top which makes it look classy and comes with a charging station and other necessary cleaning attachments. The device can be controlled conveniently via Eufy Home App ( even my 10 year old can manoeuvre it effortlessly) , Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

One of the factors which made us zeroed in on this Robovac is its price. At Rs. 16,999 it is one of the most  affordable option available in the market.  The device has 2000Pa suction power; another attractive feature of the device. Pa stands for Pascal Pressure Unit, and the higher the number is , the better the suction power is, which leaves your floors spotlessly clean. Through Eufy home App , we have also set its cleaning schedule ; so the Robovac starts cleaning at a fixed time and once done comes back to its dock and station itself for charging.

The vacuum uses the power of suction inlet , rolling brush and the rotating side brushes to suck in the dirt, cleaning even the corners of the house ( though the device is circular but the brushes do the corner cleaning well). It runs for more than an hour and a half per charge , making it a perfect device to clean our apartment in one go. The super-slim body (2.85’’) effortlessly slides  under the bed and couch, but would require little manual intervention to guide it to the area it may miss sometime or if it comes back to the same spot again.

I use the robovac on my hardwood floors only, and as instructed, avoid using it on the shag carpet as it might get entangled in its fibre. It also finds it difficult to go over small thresholds , so we have to intervene and keep it in another room; but I feel that’s still ok rather than cleaning the house by hand.

Another notable feature of the RoboVac is the spot cleaning. In Spot mode, it intensively cleans a specific area for 2 minutes in a spiral pattern. It is specifically useful to tackle the area under the dining table and kitchen.

Final Verdict:

I have been using it for past one month, so can safely say it’s a good buy . By doing all the cleaning and mopping by itself, the Robovac has helped me save lots of time and effort .

Don’t expect it to work on thick carpets; this one is best suited for everyday cleaning , wherein it picks up fine dust, hair and does mopping too. And at a time like this when you don’t have external help, the Robovac is a blessing in disguise.
