Madame Tussauds: Nice blend of National and International stars

Who doesn’t want to have a “fan moment” with his/her favorite on-screen star, but what are the chances of meeting them in our everyday life, very rare; so, we did the next best thing- we visited New Delhi’s Madame Tussauds Museum and got ourselves clicked with some famous celebrities, all ready to pose with us under one roof.

This month December marks the museum’s first anniversary since it first opened its door to the public last year. Built on the lines of wax museum in New York and London, at Madame Tussauds you can get up close and personal with more than fifty lifelike wax statues of famous personalities.

Spread across two floors, the whole place has a dark red-colored theme throughout and houses wax figures of people from Bollywood, Hollywood, music, television, history and sports, in a dedicated theme-based zones.

Here’s a sneak peek into this famous Museum:

Get greeted by Salman Khan on cycle rickshaw, wooed by Shahrukh Khan in his signature style and admire the statues of other famous Bollywood stars.

Score a goal with Messi, test your strength against Mary Kom, try hand in cricket while Sachin cheers for you or run with Milka Singh; you can do all here.

Strike a pose with Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga.

Looking at this picture, wearing a wig with Marilyn Monroe always put smile on my face. Like this one, many statues have props beside them, which you can use and get the pic clicked.

The statue of Asha Bhosle appears as if she will start singing any moment. Test your singing skills with Sonu Nigam

Allow Kim Kadarshian take selfie with you:)

Look graceful with one of the most beautiful artiste of Indian cinema, Madhubala.

Don’t miss striking a pose with an array of Hollywood stars.

Feel proud while posing with inspirational leaders.

At one nook of the Madame Tussauds museum, you can get your hand wax model made, and in the process getting the knowledge on how these are made. The staff of the museum is quite helpful and friendly; asking proactively to take pictures. There is no restriction on touching the wax statues.

Location and other information: 44, Connaught Circus, Connaught Place,Regal Building,New Delhi 110001, India. Since the connectivity of Metro and other public transport is quite good in Delhi, it its quite easy to reach Connaught Place.

The museum is located on the first floor of the building and can be assessed through Stairs and elevator.  The place is clean and is  wheelchair accessible too.+

Though the statues of most of the personalities look like real, the wax work of Kareena, Katrnia and Maduhri are big let down.

Souvenir shop at the end of the tour is little pricey. You can get your hand too in wax at a price of Rs. 800, if I remember correctly.

Tickets: Its better if you book tickets online as its almost half the price  than the window tickets.

All said and done, Madame Tussauds is a good place to go, since now you don’t have to plan a trip to New York or London to take selfies with your favorite icon ; do it conveniently here at this wax museum and flaunt the pictures on your Instagram.
